What do you do when you love theatre but really want to be in control? You direct, of course! Though that typically means you lose out on the glory of the spotlight, there's nothing quite like the thrill of a successful performance, the pats on the back, and the satisfaction of a job well done. But to get to opening night, you have to navigate a series of twists and turns, dead ends and new routes, all without a GPS. Some things will surprise you by going better than you imagine, others will throw you for a loop when you hit unexpected snags. How you handle the ups and downs of putting on a play is what directing is all about.
